YMCA Camp Kitaki offers a large variety fo traditional camp activities for your benefit and enjoyment. The activity choices available to your rental group will be influenced by your group's size, your scheduled amount of recreation time and the time of year you are at camp.

Climbing and Rappelling Tower
Climbing Tower

Our climbing tower allows participants to challenge themselves as individuals. YMCA ropes staff provide safety harnesses, helmets and belay staff. Great for everyone!

High Ropes Course

If you are looking for high adventure, Camp Kitaki's High Ropes Course is your answer. Challenge yourself on the Heebie Jeebies, the Push Pull, the Wild Woozey and more!

Target Range
Archery

Our target range offers you an opportunity for your group to learn a skill they may not have an opportunity to be exposed to. This
activity is led by your group. Equipment and guidelines for range opperations are provided by camp.

Horseback Riding

One trail rides begin with a general horse orientation where participants are properly fitted with a helmet. Riders are matched with a horse based on their previous or lack of riding ability and are led on camp trails by trained wranglers.

Proper attire of long pants and close toed, close heeled shoes are required.

Lake Activities

Paddleboats, canoes and fishing are available at our private lake. Hold canoe races, play canoe tag, teach catch and release fishing techniques or relax on a paddleboat. Lifeguards are provided for boating activities.

Swimming Pool

The pool is available during Summer Camp and Family Camp only. All campers are scheduled for time daily in the pool with opportunities for additional time during clubs, polar bears, and free swim. The pool has a shallow end starting at about 1.5 feet and going to its deepest point of 6 feet. All summer campers must pass a swimming test to gain access to the deep end (including slide).

Initiatives Course

Using nature and a certain set of problem solving stratigies, experienced Camp Kitaki Facilitators lead your group through a series of events that challenge the group. We will tailor a program that focuses on your group's particular needs whether they are communication skills, teamwork, individual challenges or leadership skills. You can create a more effective working environment after you leave camp. Any group can benefit from an experience like this!

Zip Line

A fantastic high element thrill. Participants are secured into a harness and helmet to slide down an industrial cable where they are caught on the other end. This activity is led by YMCA trained ropes staff.

Relaxing Outdoors

If your favorite thing to do is enjoy nature, there are plenty of spots all around camp. We've even put picnic tables and benches at some of the best!

Other activities

Flat top hill is the perfect location for stargazing or large group games.
A basketball court, and large open areas are available for football or soccer. We also have 200+ acres for hiking and scavenger hunts. (See hiking guide below)
