General Registration Information

The Youth Sports YMCA offers multiple ways to register for activities and sports. Participants are able to register ONLINE for clinics, micro leagues, recreational leagues and summer sports camps.

YMCA Member and NonMember rates are available online with the exception of the multiple child discount. Registration forms can still be printed and mailed into the YMCA Youth Sports office or dropped off at any Lincoln YMCA location. Late registrations for Youth Sports can be done online, mailed or dropped off at the YMCA Youth Sports Office. The Youth Sports office does not take registrations over the phone or fax machine. YMCA Youth Sports has a 75% refund policy (Credit on Account or Refund Check) before the season begins.

Q: How are teams formed?

A:

  • Individually by school areas, grade and previous team assignment. 
  • Friend and/or coach request. No guarantees. 
  • The YMCA has final jurisdiction. 

Q: Why are teams divided by grade levels?

A:

  • The YMCA believes it is important for participants to play with their friends in their own grade level. 
  • It is possible to play a grade level above. You will not be able to sign up using online registration. 
  • It is not possible for a child to play a grade level lower. 

Q: How are Coaches selected?

A:

  • All coaches of the YMCA Youth Sports leagues are volunteer. 
  • Volunteering to coach a youth sports team can be a rewarding experience and a service to the youth of our community - but most of all - tons of fun! 
  • The YMCA will provide manuals, clinic and mentors to get coaches started. 
  • Please mark on the registration form if you are interested in coaching.

Q: What about practices?

A:

  • Practices are set up by the coach in cooperation with the players once per week for 1 hour. 
  • May begin after Coach Pick-up.
  • Contact your coach about practice questions or cancellations. 

Q: How should Coaches and Fans conduct themselves?

A:

  • Coaches/spectators need to remember that the Youth Sports leagues are designed for young people. 
  • We strive to incorporate a positive, low-key, less stressful, noncompetitive atmosphere for our participants. 
  • Inappropriate/negative behavior will not be permitted. Expulsion from the league is possible. 

Q: What about Financial Assistance?

A:

  • Financial Assistance applicants must apply in person at our office, and the application will take 7 to 10 business days. 
  • Payments are based on income, number of dependents, etc. 
  • Payment is required when registering. 

Q: Registration Information?

A:

  • Deadlines are established by our office to ensure time to prepare for the season. 
  • YMCA Member and NonMember rates are available online with the exception of the multiple child discount.
  • The Youth Sports office does not take registrations over the phone or fax machine.
  • Can be postmarked by the deadline.
  • Late registrations are usually not processed or sent back until after the coaches pick-up date. 
  • A late fee is assessed to cover the costs to place participants. 
  • Any late registration not placed on a team will be sent back in its entirely. 

Q: What is the refund policy?

A:

  • The Youth Sports Branch has a 75% credit on account or a refund back to the payment type used during the registration process before the start of the season.  The Youth Sports branch does not issue refunds after the season has started.

  • $20 fee on all returned checks

For inclement weather: Please call the YMCA Youth Sports Cancellation Line at 434-9211 for all YMCA Youth Sports activities. When games are canceled, a notice will also be posted on the website. Participants can also sign up for YMCA Youth Sports Text Alerts to receive a text message when games are canceled.
