Give to Lincoln Day - All Locations

Give to Lincoln Day is May 30, 2019! (But you may give beginning May 1!)

Your donation matters! 100% of your donation the YMCA receives, and it's match, will provide life-saving swim lessons and water safety skills to children whose families cannot afford them on their own.

Donate to the YMCA of Lincoln

Give to Lincoln Day is a 24-hour event that encourages you to contribute to Lincoln and Lancaster County nonprofit organizations on May 30th. Give to Lincoln Day is coordinated by Lincoln Community Foundation, in partnership with local nonprofit organizations.

Every donation makes a bigger impact on Give to Lincoln Day because nonprofits also get a proportional share of a $450,000 match fund made possible by LCF and generous sponsors. The purpose of Give to Lincoln Day is to promote philanthropy in Lincoln and Lancaster County. There are three primary goals:

1. Introduce new donors to local nonprofit organizations.

2. Help Lincoln nonprofit organizations tell their stories and educate Lincoln about the positive impact they have on our lives.

3. Shine a community spotlight on this day of charitable giving to raise a substantial amount of new money to assist the local nonprofit network.

Making a Donation

Donations to the YMCA can be made online and all donations will be updated in real time on the leader board at www.givetolincoln.com on May 30. Online donations may be made starting on May 1. Gifts made between May 1 and May 30 will count toward the event, show on the leader board when the giving day begins, and be eligible for the match fund.

Donations may also be made in person on May 30 by cash or check at one of the three donation stations listed below:

• Lincoln Community Foundation office, 215 Centennial Mall South, from 8:00am to 5:00pm

• Tower Square, 13th & P Streets, from 10:00am to 2:00pm

• West Gate Bank, 6003 Old Cheney Road, 9:00am to 4:00pm

Checks must be written to “Lincoln Community Foundation” with the nonprofit name specified in the memo line (if you are donating to multiple nonprofits, write one check for the total and bring a separate list of nonprofits and amounts to each). LCF will charge the same 2.9% fee as Firespring Foundation charges to online gifts. Fees received from offline gifts are directed to community grants for local nonprofits.

Those who have a donor advised fund at Lincoln Community Foundation may avoid all fees by recommending grants to participating nonprofits. When using a donor advised fund, there is a minimum $100 grant per nonprofit. Grant recommendations can be created through the My LCF Login at www.lcf.org, and are encouraged to be made by May 17th.

All donations are final and cannot be refunded. Nonprofit organizations will receive their donations (minus 2.9% fee), proportional share of the match fund and a list of offline donors approximately one month after the event.
