Spirit Basketball League
Spirit Basketball is a competitive, coach-select basketball league. Coaches focus on fun and player development during a 12-game season. Teams will be provided two hours of practice time through the YMCA Youth Sports Branch per week and no weekly admission is required to attend game sites.
3rd - 8th Grade.
Registration is now open for the Winter Spirit Basketball season. The team registration deadline is on October 9.
Individuals looking to be added to a team can register online by October 1 and the staff will try to find a team for the player.
3rd Grade on Saturdays | 4th-8th Grades on Sundays. The season will begin the weekend of November 14/15 through March 6/7.
Lincoln Public Schools facilities (specific sites to be determined).
We will be following all Lincoln-Lancaster County Department of Health DHM"S, as well as the Lincoln Public School guidelines from non LPS organizations. As of February 12, YMCA Youth Sports is considered a “Non LPS Youth Organization”, and the current guidelines for Non LPS Youth Organization’s for fan attendance at games and practices is limited to ONE adult per participant (from the same household as the participant) on the team. NO siblings, extended family or more than one adult per participant is allowed in LPS facility for games or practices. Should these guidelines change, we will send out a notification with new procedures.
- Face masks are required to be worn by coaches at all times, participant’s adult that will bring athlete to LPS facility for practices and games. Due to updated DHM, participating athletes are required to wear masks for all portions of practice expect when full court scrimmaging is taking place. Athletes in game are not required to wear face mask, but athletes that can wear a face mask are encouraged to wear one. Participating athletes must wear a face mask at all times unless actively competing in a game or a full court scrimmage at practice, included moving about the facility, when on sideline waiting to be subbed, etc.
- Practices that are held at LPS facilities will be limited to only TWO coach (s)per team, the participating athlete and one adult per participant (from the same household as the participant). No siblings or more than one adult per participant is allowed in LPS facility for practices.
- Fan attendance for games is limited to one adult per participant (from the same household as the participant) on the team in LPS facilities. NO siblings, extended family or more than one adult per participant is allowed in LPS facility for games. No chairs are provided so please bring your own chair and stand or sit on opposite side from teams. Fans must keep six (6) feet of social distancing between adult(s). Adult spectator must walk in to the LPS facility with the participating athlete. No other adults will be allowed in the LPS Facility that are not accompanied with the athlete.
- Coaches must take attendance of those that attend practice/game each week. Coaches must keep a log for entire season with the date(s) of the practice/game, facility location and the time their team is in a LPS facility.
Teams may wear their own team jersey, no restrictions. Teams may wear the YMCA navy/white Recreational and Micro jersey. The cost for a YMCA Basketball jersey is $15. For teams to order the YMCA reversible jersey, please use the jersey order form that is posted online.

Jewelry is not allowed to be worn during YMCA Youth Sports activities. This includes earrings (earrings cannot be taped).
