YMCA Personal Training can be purchased in packages for individualized training or small groups of 2-3 clients with like goals. Services provided by a Y Personal Trainer include but are not limited to: 

  • Designing an easy-to-follow program for participants
  • Specialized strength training programs
  • Motivating experienced exercisers to overcome fitness plateaus
  • Aiding in weight loss/weight management programs
  • Personalized one-on-one training sessions

Golf Group Training

Cooper YMCA

Get ready for spring and summer golf with this 6-week group training. With up to 9 others, work to improve your golf game by learning warm-up and stretching techniques to loosen your muscles and reduce the risk of injury. Improve your overall mechanics required to excel your golf game through core strength, stability and overall muscle strength and endurance. Everyone is different, therefore, group training will offer participants the chance to learn what areas they need the most help with to improve their game. For ages 14 and older or graduates of Youth Fitness Training.

My First 5K

This six-week program is designed for those wishing to train for their first 5K (3.1-mile race), those wanting to learn how to start or pick back up a running program and for those looking for a change in their current cardio workout routine.

Individualized training for 12- to 14-year-olds who are motivated to stay or become strong and healthy. Participants will learn safety and proper technique in using all workout area and Quick Fit equipment. These preteens will also weight room etiquette, and basic nutrition all while developing healthy lifelong habits and strong character based on the YMCA core values. This class is mandatory for 12- to 14-year olds who would like to use the Wellness Areas. 

Parents are required to attend the first class. All participants must complete at least seven of the eight sessions to graduate from the class. 
 
Please note: If your child is currently 11 but will turn 12 before the end of the session, they may take the class. After graduating, youth age 12-14 may use the workout areas when supervised by YMCA Staff or if the parent is in the same area as the child. Youth under 15 are not allowed in the workout area by themselves.
