Program Description

Can Play is a nationwide program that is designed for children or teens with autism, special healthcare needs including physical, cognitive, or emotional challenges who benefit from structured instruction, flexible pacing, and individualized adaptations. Our Can Play–certified coaches use Can Play’s curriculum and adaptation model to adjust rules, equipment, environment, and instruction so each participant can engage successfully at their own pace.

Can Play Adapted Tennis: An adapted racquet sports program designed for individuals with autism and special healthcare needs, including those with physical, cognitive, and emotional challenges. Participants learn fundamental skills such as striking, tracking, and movement using modified equipment, court adaptations, and individualized instruction to promote confidence and engagement.

Registration Information

Registration for the Lincoln YMCA Can Play Adapted Summer Tennis Program is now available. The registration deadline is on May 27. There is a max number of 12 registrations per session.

Clinic Days

Clinic will be held on Saturday June 13, 20, 27 and July 11.

9:00am to 10:00am Kindergarten through 3rd Grade

10:15am to 11:15am 4th Grade through 8th Grade

Fees

Lincoln YMCA Members $35 | Community Members $50

Other Equipment

Tennis shoes are fine. Jewelry is not allowed to be worn during YMCA Youth Sports activities. This includes earrings (earrings cannot be taped). All equipment will be provided during the program.
