Softball Clinics & Trainings

Softball Spring Training: Grades 1-6

TRAINING DESCRIPTION: Softball Spring Training is offered each spring for girls in 1st through 6th Grade. This training focuses on fundamentals, instruction and activities in a low-pressure environment with YMCA staff coaches. Trainings are one-hour sessions once a week for three weeks. Participants will receive an informational letter detailing training time and location approximately ten days before the start of the training.

REGISTRATION INFORMATION:

Registration for the YMCA Spring Training Softball League registration is now available.

Early Registration Deadline: March 31 (The fee will be an additional $10 after the early registration deadline)

Middle Registration Deadline: April 16 (The fee will be an additional $30 after the middle registration deadline)

Late Registration Period: After April 17

 

TRAINING DAYS: Saturday afternoons on April 27, May 4 and 11.

 

REGISTRATION FEE: Lincoln YMCA Members $34 | Community Members $44

 

LOCATION: YMCA Wright Park | 4441 S Folsom St.

 

T-SHIRT: T-shirt is included in the registration fee.

 

OTHER EQUIPMENT: Participants will be required to provide their own glove. Cleats are recommended but not required. Jewelry is not allowed to be worn during YMCA Youth Sports activities. This includes earrings (earrings cannot be taped). No hard casts/splints are allowed.

Deaf and Hard of Hearing Baseball and Softball Clinic: Grades K-5

 CLINIC DESCRIPTION: The one-day clinic offered for Deaf and hard of hearing girls and boys in kindergarten through 5th grades. Instructor will use basic ASL prompts for fundamental instruction, including signs for throwing, catching, batting, and other related activities. Participants will receive an informational email detailing clinic time and location approximately seven days before the start of the clinic.

 

REGISTRATION INFORMATION: 

Registration for the YMCA Deaf and Hard of Hearing Baseball and Softball Clinic registration is now available. The registration deadline is on May 9. There is a max of 20 participants per session.

 

CLINIC DAY: Saturday, May 18 from 10:00am to 11:30am .

 

LOCATION: YMCA Wright Park | 4441 S Folsom St.

Softball Indoor Training: Grades K-4

TRAINING DESCRIPTION: Softball Indoor Training is offered each fall for boys and girls in Kindergarten through 4th Grade. This training focuses on fundamentals, instruction and activities in a low-pressure environment with YMCA staff coaches. Trainings are 50 minutes once a week for three weeks. Participants will receive an informational email detailing training time and location approximately ten days before the start of the training.

REGISTRATION INFORMATION: Registration information will be available in October 2024. There is a max of 20 participants per session.

TRAINING DAYS: 

Saturday mornings in November and December

9:00am to 9:50am Kindergarten and 1st Grade

10:00am to 10:50am Kindergarten and 1st Grade

11:00am to 11:50am 2nd through 4th Grade
