Specialized Training includes a variety of types of group trainings tailored to specific goals. These classes are offered at an extra cost to both YMCA Members and Non-members and pre-registration is required.

Barre-based fitness training is a total-body workout that fuses elements from ballet-based Barre work with strength training and core work. Classes include Barre Boot Camp and Barre Express.

Chakras

This three part chakra series will begin with the exploration of the root and sacral chakras. During these trainings we will work with colors, healing crystals, mudras, postures, guided visualization, aromatherapy, and sounds to explore the amazing healing potential of your seven major chakras.

In this class you will practice on and off body tricks, transitions, and techniques. You will learn short, fun hoop dance sequences. Class size is kept small for personalized support. Hoops are provided during class.

Pickleball

Pickleball is a growing sport in the United States — 2.4 million people of all ages and fitness levels play it. The game combines elements of badminton, ping pong and tennis. Two to four players play with square paddles, a small plastic ball with holes (similar to a wiffle ball) and a low net. The court is one-fourth the size of a tennis court.

Resistance Training for Distance Runners

To improve your running speed and performance, not only do you need to spend hours running, but you also need to improve your conditioning in the gym with various technique drills and exercises. Conditioning training for running involves general core stability exercises, all-over body-conditioning exercises, specific training for the lower and upper body, and specific exercises to develop leg strength and speed.

This strength training series focuses on building strength and confidence in the wellness center. Learn to execute proper form, break through fitness plateaus, and challenge your body, while making new friends at the Y. Previous weight lifting experience is not required.

Yoga workshops can teach you how to boost your exercise performance, prevent injuries, de-stress or calm your mind. Each workshop allows the opportunity to ask questions and receive feedback. These workshops are open to all levels and allow for you to learn how to best incorporate yoga into your wellness regimen. These workshops are limited in size, so sign up early to secure your spot.
