Youth Training & Wellness

Fitness for everyone! Introduce your kids to fitness through fun, high-energy group classes they’ll love. Parents can attend for a family workout, or can drop kids off for them to learn the importance of staying active while parents go focus on their own health and wellness goals.

For times when youth will be using the YMCA, we ask that the outlined YMCA of Lincoln policy and facility use guidelines be followed. Click HERE for our Youth Policies.

Speed & Agility

The Program: 5-week Speed & Agility youth program

Who Can Participate: Boys & Girls ages 8-14

Locations & Sessions

Speed & Agility is not currently being offered for the Winter Session 2023.

*Please note, the registration fee for this program offering does not qualify for Open Doors Financial Assistance.

The goal of the Speed & Agility program is to teach youth participants skills including proper running mechanics, plyometric skills and movement efficiency that will help them excel in their respective sport(s).

Participants will improve speed, quickness and reactive skills, as well as body control, to both assist in injury prevention and aid in proper movement patterning.

Participants will meet with Health & Wellness staff and go through initial testing and evaluation, work on acceleration drills, and perform plyometric and agility drills.

Classes will take place indoors and outdoors depending on the planned training for the day. There is a limit of 12 youth per session, so secure your youth's spot today!

Teen Fitness Training

Participants 12-14 years of age will focus on safety and proper technique in using all workout area equipment. Discussions on character development, weight room etiquette, and basic nutrition will also be included in the curriculum. Participants must attend at least 7 of the 8 sessions. Successful completion of this class will grant participants access to the wellness floor.
