NEBRASKA TOTAL CARE MEMBERSHIP UPDATES
Beginning October 1, 2025, Nebraska Total Care will no longer cover YMCA membership benefits at the Lincoln YMCA. While we're disappointed with their decision, we're committed to helping you stay connected to the Y community. To continue your membership beyond October 1, please follow the steps below:
- Apply for Financial Assistance before October 1, 2025 (please note that you can apply for assistance before your NTC membership expires)
Our Open Doors Financial Assistance program helps reduce the cost of YMCA memberships and programs. Anyone can apply, and the amount awarded is based on your submitted documentation, ranging from 10% to 50% off membership costs. With our Fast Track Financial Assistance option, you will receive a guaranteed 35% discount with proof of Medicaid coverage. To learn more and to apply, click HERE.
- Join the Lincoln YMCA starting October 1, 2025
Once approved for financial assistance, your discount will apply automatically when you join either online or in person at any Lincoln Y location. Please note that memberships using this discount cannot be activated until October 1, 2025, after your Nebraska Total Care benefit ends. For membership information including rates, click HERE.
If you would like to discontinue your Lincoln Y membership, no action is needed. On October 1, 2025, your Y membership will be inactive as a result of NTC's decision.

Yes! If anyone in your household has Medicaid coverage, you qualify for a 35% discount through the Fast Track option of our Open Doors Financial Assistance program.
To apply, complete the Open Doors application, select "Fast Track," and upload documentation showing the recipient's first and last name. Apply today!
The YMCA's Open Doors program helps lower the cost of Y memberships and programs. Anyone can apply, and there are two options:
- Fast Track - Receive a guaranteed 35% discount if you receive any of the following: SNAP, Child Care Subsidy, LIHEAP, Medicaid, or AFDC. Applications may take up to 5 business days to process.
- Traditional - Submit your annual income for a full review and a possible 10-50% discount. Applications may take up to 14 business days to process.

Existing memberships set up prior to August 1 will be active for 3 months. Memberships set up in August will be active for 2 months, while memberships set up in September will be active for 1 month.
All NTC memberships will end on October 1, 2025.
Nope! We will waive the Joiner Fee if you join the Y within 30 days of your Nebraska Total Care Y membership expiring.
