Expanding Horizons Through The Achievery™
This past semester, we were excited to launch The Achievery™, a free digital learning platform designed to make learning more engaging, entertaining, and accessible for today’s connected students. Developed by AT&T in collaboration with Warner Bros. Discovery, The Achievery™ is part of the AT&T Connected Learning program and a broader effort to help narrow the digital divide and homework gap.
Through a variety of video content and interactive lesson plans, The Achievery™ covers important topics like Social-Emotional Learning, The Arts, English Language Arts, Science, Social Studies, Math, Technology and Engineering, and Digital Literacy.
At the Lincoln Y, The Achievery™ has opened the door to meaningful conversations between staff and youth, allowing us to connect on real-world issues that impact their everyday lives. In one recent lesson, our team explored the topic of Deepfakes — how they are created, and the importance of questioning the information we see online. These conversations, combined with our broader focus on digital safety, are helping our middle schoolers develop critical thinking skills and empowering them to navigate the digital world more safely and thoughtfully.
" The Achievery™ has given us a fresh, exciting way to connect with our kids on topics that really matter.” Shared Aaron Edwards, Youth, Teen, and Family director at the Copple Family YMCA. “It’s been amazing to see them thinking critically, asking questions, and building the skills they need to stay safe and smart online."
We are excited to continue expanding our program offerings through The Achievery™ and to keep finding new ways to engage, inspire, and support our youth both inside and outside the classroom.
